With Federal Reserve Note “dollars” now facing the twin threats of inflation and bank failures, more Americans than ever are diversifying into physical gold and silver.

Premiums on bullion coins, rounds, and bars rose slightly in the past two weeks, but they have now stabilized.  Availability of certain items — such as 1 oz and 10 oz gold bars — is still tight.

Higher carrying costs is leading to reluctance by wholesalers in selling low-margin gold inventory for future delivery.  However, private mints have added so much minting capacity in the past two years that silver availability remains high.
