Inseparable is hard at work with state legislators across the country to advocate for vital mental health legislation at a critical time for our students.
In Colorado, over one in six adolescents (17%) reported a major depressive episode in the past year, and over a third did not receive any treatment. With Inseparable’s support, the Colorado State Legislature is taking action to combat this mental health crisis.
Angela Kimball, our Senior Vice President of Advocacy & Public Policy, testified in support of Colorado SB23-1003, a bill in the Colorado Legislature to provide mental health assessments for students in 6-12th grade. Providing mental health screenings in schools is one of the best ways to catch mental health problems and help students get the help and support they need.
We are proud to see Colorado lawmakers taking steps to pursue annual mental health wellness check-ups at public schools.
This is the type of comprehensive mental health legislation Inseparable is working to pass in states across the country, and your support means we can push for these types of policies in more and more states.
