The day after Georgia was born, she started showing signs of a bowel obstruction. Her parents brought her to Boston Children’s after struggling to find answers at other hospitals. Our experienced team was able to diagnose her rare intestinal disorder within days and fit her with a colostomy bag and feeding tube.
Since then, Georgia has had about 30 inpatient stays at Boston Children’s because a simple cold or stomach bug can trigger flare-ups. Her dedicated care team goes above and beyond to make every single stay bearable, especially on her birthday when they all wore matching oversized hair bows to celebrate.
Fortunately, Georgia’s health journey has not clouded her sunny disposition. She’s proud to be unique and happily shows people her colostomy bag, explaining why she has it.
Monthly giving makes an incredible difference for children with chronic illnesses like Georgia by providing vital support we can always rely on. Help more kids receive top-notch, ongoing care throughout their journeys. When you become a monthly partner today, your first three months’ gifts will be matched to go even further.
Thank you for being a constant source of support and joy for kids at Boston Children’s!
