Hello……It feels like the end of the year is coming like a freight train and there is no possibility for me to outrun it. Just one more week would be so nice. I’ll end the year of a note of recap, personal update and vision for the future.

So here we go….

BOOTSTAPPED & GROWING

For the past 5 years we’ve been building Mowellens and 2023 will bring about a celebration of 5 years open for business. We have found great fulfillment in crafting beautiful products fueled by a desire to formulate clean, pure ingredients consciously sourced from farms around the world and blended with love and nature’s touch. Our passion has been reciprocated by your reviews and referrals to share Mowellens with your community of family, friends and beyond. Planting it forward has helped us make it this long – from bootstrapped startup to five years in and growing. The journey has been coupled with steep learnings, a lot of grit, and serendipitous memories of victory. All worth it in the end.

HOTEL SPA EXPANSION

This year we became an approved Marriott partner, and, as a result, in 2023, we will be expanding our presence in hotel spas around the world. Our CBD signature facial, stick and stone CBD massage, and CBD honey mask body treatment have been experienced by thousands in the EDITION hotels. The Keeper’s Stash CBD infused honey provides relaxation and serenity prior to these services. As someone who craves vacay spa experiences, this pairing was a dream of mine. Where will find ourselves next?

MOWELLENS SPA

Mowellens pop up spa, coming 2023. We’ve talked about this for a while now and it’s finally happening. Located in Culver City, you can expect a booking link to appear in your inbox in early 2023. To be able to experience our skincare products firsthand, the facial massage brought to life by a professional, trust me … it will become a monthly ritual.

Are you an esthetician interested in branching off into your own space in 2023 – reply to this email if you are interested in popping up at our location in Culver City.

EDIT HEALTH

This year, after a 6-year hiatus focusing on Mowellens, I re-emerged into the field of “traditional” healthcare but for the purposes of making change. After using psychedelic therapy to heal my depression after my husband passed away in 2019, I started building Edit with a passion to shift the field of psychiatry and leverage breakthrough therapies. This new venture feels like a pinnacle of my career – a blend of telemedicine, clinical laboratory, emerging therapies, and a passion for helping people find their equilibrium and traverse the obstacles of life with ease. Edit is a digital mental health practice using ketamine with virtual reality and longevity (NAD) therapies to heal depression and PTSD. THE FARM

Regerative agriculture has been a hobby of mine and a field of study since Mowellens started. Many of you know, I purchased a farm in 2020 to start growing some of the botanicals and hemp we use in our products. The farm will also serve as a wellness retreat for individual, corporate, and psychedelic gatherings. Soil health and symbiosis is the basis for regenerative agriculture and initial soil tests showed organic matter at 3%, not bad for 16 years of non-farming activity. Three horses and eight longhorn cattle call the land home. Just a few weeks ago, we planted our first cover crop. A diverse seed blend of winter peas, sudan grass, crimson clover, and more was manually spread throughout 6 acres of land. After sore biceps and seed powder in our nostrils inches deep, we will use a broadcast seeder next year. 🙂 But we are excited to break up some of the soil compaction and see the land come spring. This week brings rain and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
