Got pumpkin pie? Thanksgiving is only a few days away! Don’t forget to pull the turkey out of the freezer to thaw. Here are some tips from the U.S. Department of Agriculture on how to thaw the bird safely before the big day.
If you’re looking for a good place to gather and give thanks after the big feast, you might try Passion Church on Thursday. A group of local religious leaders are holding a nondenominational Thanksgiving service, which also includes activities for kids, fundraising events and a chance to socialize.
And a Maricopa family is hoping to make the annual Thanksgiving feast a little easier for others. The Websters have been holding annual Thanksgiving food and Christmas toy drives for the last several years. It’s a bit late to donate to the Thanksgiving drive, but there’s still plenty of time to donate to the toy drive.
Also, the results in the last few races from the General Election are trickling in. Results will become official after the Pinal County Board of Supervisors approves the canvas of the vote this week. In Casa Grande, the Casa Grande Elementary School District Governing Board will have a new face on it after a close race for one of two open seats. It looks as if we might also have a decision in the tight race for the two District 16 seats for the Arizona House of Representatives. |
