Game 2 sure has a tough act to follow.

But if the opener of this World Series between the Phillies and Astros is any indication, we might have something special here.

The Phillies beat the odds and the Astros in storming back from a 5-0 third-inning deficit to win, 6-5, in an epic 10-inning Game 1. And now, with their ace Zack Wheeler on the mound for Game 2 tonight at Minute Maid Park, they’ll try to take a 2-0 Series lead with them when the Fall Classic shifts to Philly on Monday.

Kyle Schwarber swiped second base in the seventh inning of Game 1, adding his name to the list of “Taco Heroes” in Taco Bell’s “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” promotion.

 Last night gave us a Fall Classic opener for the ages — but there is plenty of competition in that category as history has given us some memorable Game 1 drama over the years.

If you had to sum up Friday night’s incredible Game 1 in one screen shot, you might just go with the reaction of one young Phillies fan in the stands at Minute Maid Park.

Philadelphia became the ninth team in MLB history to win a pennant after switching managers during the season — and Rob Thomson is looking to become just the third skipper to win the World Series in that same season.

Miami’s new 35-acre Dominican facility is a combination of college campus and Spring Training site, featuring baseball and residential facilities meant to help international signees holistically develop as ballplayers and people.
