Democracy is on the line in Arizona this election. Propositions 128, 129, and 132 take away your right to decide what happens in Arizona through the ballot initiative process. They allow politicians who don’t like the decisions we’ve made to rewrite the rules, so they can get what they want, instead of what Arizonans want.
Proposition 128: Allow legislature to divert funds from illegal and/or unconstitutional ballot measures.
Proposition 129: Limits future initiatives to a single issue described in the title.
Proposition 132: Require a supermajority of 60% voter approval to create tax law via ballot measures
These amendments give politicians the power to rewrite laws that have already been passed by the people. They also end majority rule in Arizona – just 41% of voters would be able to block initiatives for affordable housing or funding public education
