The Casa Grande Police Department is one of several in the state that has been approved for a $1.25 million grant from the federal government. The city council hasn’t decided yet what the money will be used for but it can be used for hiring more officers, community policing and preventing school violence.
And who’s up for a bit of shopping therapy? The discount department store chain Marshalls will be celebrating the grand opening of its latest store in Maricopa on Nov. 3. In honor of the event, the company plans to donate to a local charity.
