RJ,
Americans are still feeling pain at the pump, along with rising costs for almost everything else. It’s common sense that producing more American energy would help bring these costs under control. So why is the Biden Administration blaming energy producers for this crisis?
You may have heard something about “unused leases,” which the Administration claims are the result of energy companies sitting on leases that should otherwise be producing energy. However, the truth is that the percentage of leases producing natural gas or oil on federal lands is at a two-decade high, with nearly 2 of every 3 leases in active production.
Even more could be on the table, but the Biden Administration has slowed the approval process to a crawl, missing its own deadlines and choosing to point fingers instead. There are over 4,000 permits to drill waiting for approval from Biden appointees, and thousands more stuck in court due to the Administration’s apparent “delay, delay, delay” strategy.
We need an American energy strategy that accounts for how important federal leasing is to our economy. Will you help us get there?
