As we enter the final stretch of the 2022 election, we wanted to give you a quick Civics 101 reminder: we live in a representative democracy where elected persons represent a group of people. But if you asked the majority of Americans, they would say they don’t feel represented at all. Today, it feels like most of our members of Congress want to be social media darlings looking to divide their community and score cheap political points with their base.

Americans are tired of the partisan showmanship and want accountability from their leaders. They want to have that sense of knowing the people elected to represent them will serve with dignity and integrity. They want leaders who are truly representative of their communities and fight for the country, not just their party.

The candidates for the US House and Senate that the Forward Party is endorsing this election cycle are independent leaders who embody that desire of putting communities first. They are the fulcrum on which integrity can win out over extremism. And they need our help.
