Progressive Southern Strategy: Alabama Mobilization, October 6thth

Thursday, October 6th at 5pm PT| 8pm ET

Despite being the heart of the civil rights movement and the reason for the Voting Rights Act of 1965, Black Alabama voters have been overlooked by political candidates for decades. This year, Black Alabamians face racially gerrymandered maps – now being heard in the Supreme Court – which continues to hamper Black voters’ representation in the state.

We know Black voters in Alabama matter, and so do Alabamians. That is why we are working with partners on the ground to empower and turn out voters at the polls this fall.

This Thursday, October 6th: Join leaders of the Alabama Democracy Center Coalition, Douglas Bonner, E.C. Rentz, and Karen Stanley, who are working to mobilize Black voters across the state from the ground up. 

Politicians and other national organizations have turned their backs on the most important group of voters: Black voters in the south. But we haven’t and neither should you. Come learn how you can join our campaign to increase Black voter turnout in Alabama and beyond!
