Webinar Series: Overview of USCIS Online Accounts for Attorneys and Accredited Representatives

Tuesday, August 16, 2022

1 – 2:15 p.m. Eastern Time

The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (CIS Ombudsman) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) invite stakeholders to participate in a joint webinar to discuss the attorney and accredited representative experience with the USCIS online account on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, from 1 to 2:15 p.m. ET.

Using the USCIS online account provides attorneys and accredited representatives a personalized experience designed to help navigate the benefit request submission and case management process for their clients. Use of the online account allows representatives to:

  • Immediately receive receipt notices, promptly receive requests for evidence and other issued notices from USCIS, and submit additional evidence and responses to requests for evidence;
  • Use various case management tools specific to each client’s case in one centralized location;
  • Send secure messages directly to USCIS; and
  • Link and view paper-filed cases in the online accounts.

During this session, CIS Ombudsman staff will engage with USCIS subject matter experts (SMEs) to walk through the USCIS online account with a focus on the features and benefits for attorneys and accredited representatives. Also, USCIS SMEs will demonstrate how attorneys and accredited representatives can create and use their online accounts as well as provide tips for completing electronic forms and submitting them online. (A previous CIS Ombudsman webinar on January 20, 2022, focused on the features and resources for applicants, petitioners, and requestors.)

This webinar will serve as an information sharing and gathering session. Participants may submit questions and comments online during the engagement. The CIS Ombudsman will use the public’s questions and feedback (without attribution) to assist USCIS in developing training and outreach materials. We look forward to hearing from you on these issues and invite you to register for this engagement using the link below.
