Franklin Graham Update: AUGUST 2022
U.S. DISASTER RELIEF
Kentucky Suffers Another Tragedy
Dear Friend,
Deadly flash floods devastated parts of eastern Kentucky recently, destroying hundreds of houses and taking the lives of dozens, including four children who were swept out of their parents’ arms when a raging mountain creek washed away their mobile home.
At Samaritan’s Purse, we quickly deployed to two of the hardest-hit areas, Floyd County and Breathitt County—where we responded to a flood last year. Our teams are working to get families back in their homes, wherever possible. We are thankful for all of the volunteers who have joined us to help in Jesus’ Name.
SPECIAL FEATURE: Samaritan’s Purse deployed two of our tractor-trailer disaster relief units to eastern Kentucky to do what we can to comfort the survivors and help families get back in their homes.
I invite you to continue reading about our work in Kentucky in this month’s digital newsletter. You can also read about a church we are building in remote Scammon Bay, Alaska, and about a visit from former Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen, to Alaska where they encouraged military couples attending Operation Heal Our Patriots.Keep Reading
