• Showing of the movie, “Mayberry Man”

The Berachah Valley band has been a bluegrass staple in our area for over 17 years. Troy’s downtown concert series, “Fridays on Prouty” will be bringing them back again in 2022 with a new show! This classic band was asked to be the sound of bluegrass for the movie “Mayberry Man.” The movie is a re-creation of the beloved Andy Griffith Show which takes place in Mayberry, USA. The experience was an exciting time for the band. They were part of the touring variety show that traveled the country promoting the movie. On August 12, 2022 at 7:30 pm they will share the variety show and movie with Troy, Ohio. Berachah Valley will play favorites from the movie, the cast will be on hand with jokes and stories. A showing of the movie Mayberry Man will begin about 8:30 pm after the concert and variety show. This fun-packed night honoring Berachah Valley bluegrass band and their new movie is free to the public. Reservations are not necessary. Bring a lawn chair, your best friend and plenty of good wishes for Berachah Valley.

Fridays on Prouty concerts are a collaboration between the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center and Troy Main Street. Concerts are free to the public thanks to a generous grant from the Troy Foundation. Join us in the center of lovely downtown Troy, Ohio at Prouty Plaza. Bring a lawn chair and your best friend.  For more information on the Fridays on Prouty concert series visit:www.troyhayner.org/fridays-on-prouty

Paintings by Shirley DeLaet

August 26th – October 16th

Opening Reception: August 26th from 5:00 pm to 6:45 pm

Learning who I am as an artist was difficult for me because I don’t fall into any one label. Even though I paint landscapes, I am not a landscape artist. I paint still life subjects, yet I am not totally a still life artist. I am a painter of things I see as beautiful and that could be anything from a dead tree to a beautiful bird, a flower, a landscape, or anything that inspires me.  I might have to change my style if the subject calls for it.  And, I definitely have to paint the way I not only see it, but in the way that I feel it. Life needs more beauty in it.

So I paint.
