It is my distinct pleasure and honor to share with you the news that after 33 years serving as your Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) president, I am announcing my successor as head of our great organization. Please join me in welcoming Hall of Famer, Jim Thome, as the new president of our association.As we continue to reflect on our rich history of 40 years, we look forward to a vibrant future with Jim leading at the helm. Jim will assume the duties of president immediately and I will transition to president emeritus, while assisting him in his new role. It is an honor to pass the torch to one of the finest men I know. I have no doubts that Jim will lead and inspire this organization for many years to come.

I am grateful to pass the duties of this role to a man whom I wholeheartedly believe will be a more than capable president and ambassador to the game we love and fraternity in which we all belong.

Thank you for allowing me the great honor of presiding over the MLBPAA as its president for the past 33 years.
