I had just finished serving our great nation in Afghanistan when I decided to take a vacation with my two childhood friends in Europe during 2015. We were traveling on a Paris-bound train when an Islamic terrorist armed with a gun, a jar of gasoline, and 270 rounds of ammunition attempted to take over our train and kill us all.
As a soldier, I was trained to take out a terrorist threat – as an American, I was taught to stand up for freedom no matter where I was in the world. Which is why along with my friends and other brave travelers took the action needed to stop the terrorist that day.
In 2020 I ran for Congress because, like a lot of you reading this email, my congressman lost touch with reality a long ago. My life changed the day my friends and I took on Islamic terrorism, and since then I’ve made a habit of standing up and speaking out when I know there is a need.
Last May I launched my second campaign for Congress and today I’m asking if you’ll consider supporting me with a financial contribution to my U.S. House campaign.
In 2020, Nancy Pelosi and her super PAC spent nearly $6 million to save the DEM incumbent and smear my good name. Pelosi won that battle as I narrowly lost my race. But I’m here to tell you today: I’m going to win the war.
But it won’t be easy. While my 2020 opponent opted to retire instead of facing a rematch against me, my new Bernie Sanders-style-opponent has already begun to lie about me and what I stand for.
I received an email last week that frankly was just chalked full of claims that my opponent (who has never met me) couldn’t possibly know to be true. She calls me a “union-buster,” a “climate-change-denier,” and a “Big-Lie-believer.”
My opponent knows that I’m a threat and she’s looking to paint me as an extreme out-of-touch puppet being controlled by party heads in D.C. That couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve been telling you that this day would come for some time now – and now that day has finally arrived.
I have seen the dangers of this world, and I have stood up for freedom in the face of terrorism. I know the strength it takes to stand up and fight for what is right – which is why I want to take on the anti-American, radical-Left in Washington.
