Japanese insurance giant Sompo is the latest insurer to reject support for oil and gas projects in the Arctic Refuge. This is great news for Indigenous communities and our climate, but we need other companies to follow suit.

Drilling in the refuge requires insurance-backed pipelines, drilling rigs and oil refineries—infrastructure that would compromise sacred land, threaten wildlife and interfere with Indigenous communities’ way of life.
