Good morning RJ,
A Maricopa man was arrested after causing a scene that probably left some residents scratching their heads. The man allegedly called police and told officers that he had been jumped at his home. As it turned, the house was not his. Police were called back to the area a short time later after the man allegedly damaged another home. The man also allegedly damaged a police vehicle while he was being transported to the county jail.
And in more bizarre crime news, a Casa Grande man is facing charges after he allegedly head-butted an officer. Officers were called because the man was allegedly damaging the inside of a Casa Grande store. After being transported to jail, the man allegedly head-butted a county services officer.
Also, some Florence residents are puzzled as to why the town staff would recommend putting a new two-story utilities maintenance facility building with seven recycling bins in their neighborhood. The residents objected to the plans for the new building at a recent town council meeting. They raised concerns about blowing trash, flies, rodents and possible health issues.
And don’t forget to nominate your favorite Maricopa business for a Creme de la Copa contest. The nomination process just started and will run until July 1. Voting on the businesses with the most nominations in each category will start on July 15 and winners will be announced in October. |
