Good morning RJ,
Orange construction barrels will be blooming in Coolidge this weekend. The Arizona Department of Transportation will be repaving State Route 287 between Coolidge and Florence starting Friday evening. Motorists should expect delays of 15 minutes or more. On the bright side, the work is expected to be completed by Monday morning.
And talk about traffic problems: The issue of traffic around various schools in Maricopa was part of the discussion at a recent Maricopa City Council meeting. City staff told the council they’ve been meeting with the schools to discuss solutions to the long lines of cars waiting to pick up or drop off students at the schools. However, to make those solutions work, it will take the combined efforts of the city, the schools and the parents.
Also, property owners may get a tax break this year. The Pinal County Board of Supervisors approved a tentative $1 billion budget that includes a 13-cent cut in the county’s primary property tax rate. The board will adopt the final budget in July.
