Black and rural voters in the South have been left out of the national narrative to engage, mobilize and empower voters for far too long.

Join Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, this Thursday 5pm PT/ 8pm ET to discuss why Congress needs to employ a more inclusive and effective messaging strategy to reach Black and rural voters in southern states.

Congressman Jeffries previously met with Democracy Center leaders and partner organizations for a conversation on what Congress needs to do to reach Black and rural voters in the South in a way that is not only effective, but impactful. Join us for a reflection on what was learned!

Hakeem Jeffries represents the diverse Eighth Congressional District of New York, an area that encompasses large parts of Brooklyn and a section of Queens. Serving his fifth term in the United States Congress, Rep. Jeffries is a member of the House Judiciary Committee and House Budget Committee. Rep. Jeffries is Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, having been elected to that position by his colleagues in November 2018.
