The Goat House Refuge
Dear Cecille Kitty Team – This is a longshot, but I did want to share…….
For many years (since January 2013), I have been closely following The Goathouse Refuge, a 501(c)(3) in Pittsboro, North Carolina dedicated 100% to saving kitties. Last week, I went on vacation to a women’s professional tennis tournament in Charleston, South Carolina but took Saturday off from tennis to make the four hour drive from Charleston to The Goathouse Refuge to see it firsthand….. it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING…… When I retire, I want to move to Pittsboro and volunteer at The Goathouse Refuge…… I cannot imagine a better way to end my life than working to save as many kitties as possible…… About a month ago, they lost the small building that served as the hospital for the kitties due to wood rot and mold… so the kitties have been moved to temporary housing and they are working to raise money to build a new infirmary….. the link to The Goathouse Refuge website is below – and donating is super easy….. if you can spare $25.00 or so, I would personally be so grateful to know that fellow kitty lovers helped Siglinda Scarpa (Founder) build a new infirmary for the kitties who need medical care…..
I have also attached a copy of The New York Times article on Siglinda and The Goathouse Refuge which was published in January 2013…. this is how I found out about The Goathouse Refuge….. it stole my heart, and I have followed them ever since and donated whenever I could….. the visit to the refuge was so beautiful it made me cry……. Anyway….. if any of you can donate, please do….. thank you 🙂
