Last week, the Senate blocked the passage of the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act, critical voting rights legislations that would have expanded and protected the freedom to vote, including an end to gerrymandering.
Eric Holderis an American lawyer who served as the 82nd Attorney General of the United States from 2009 to 2015. Holder, serving in the administration of President Barack Obama, was the first African American to hold the position of U.S. Attorney General. He now serves as Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee and remains a prominent civil and voting rights advocate.
