2022 Is The Year of Loupe

The energy in the Loupe office is extra strong today, and it’s not just ‘cause we’re all on our third cups of coffee. The new year always puts some pep in your step, ready for fresh starts and new opportunities. We’re ready to kill it in 2022.

We’re coming off a MONUMENTAL close to 2021. Loupe users set new app-wide records in nearly every category. December was a really exciting month, full of new users, new breakers, and new features. This train don’t stop, it only speeds up.

The Loupe team is fully committed to keeping that momentum rolling as we move into 2022. We’ve already welcomed the Orlando Magic’s Michael Carter-Williams to the app; stay tuned because we’ll have another pro athlete for you next week. Also, be on the lookout for a steady cadence of app updates from our development squad that’ll keep improving the experience. We have so much planned this year, it’s honestly mindblowing.

• Mikey B Joins the Loupe Gang (Thursday at 5pm ET) —We went out and got an all-star. One of the biggest names in the hobby makes his Loupe debut this Thursday with a giveaway of a signed Giannis Antetokounmpo jersey along with over 200 singles and multiple boxes of the newest releases available for personals. So make sure to join Mikey B’s first stream, and find out why he’s such a beacon of inspiration and positivity.

So, Let’s Talk about Wander Franco’s Bowman’s Best Card…

There’s some interesting drama around Wander Franco’s first rookie card…if you want to call it that. It’s a somewhat convoluted situation, but here’s the gist of it: Wander’s Bowman’s Best card isn’t included as part of the prospect set, but it doesn’t include the rookie badge either. So…what is it?

Here’s a good writeup that provides more context. For what it’s worth, Beckett says they’ll recognize this as his first true rookie card. We want to know what you think. Is this Wander’s true rookie, or are you waiting for the 2022 crop where his RC badge will make him the hottest name on the checklist?

The Hits Don’t Take Time Off for the Holidays

No rest for the hits. They’re showing up to work week after week, never absent and never taking vacation. That’s why we love the hits.

Which ones did we love this week? There were a bunch. Ry$ hit a sick Joe Montana victory auto /3 from Panini Impeccable, a card that commemorates the game where Montana threw for a career-high 476 yards. Speaking of good QBs, Coach Chris hit a Mac Jones 1/1 out of Illusions. Courtside did too with a Mac Jones laundry tag 1/1 out of XR.

KidBreaker threw it back to 2013 with a Nathan MacKinnon rookie materials from back when Panini shared the hockey license. Buff’s Breaks hit a beautiful Najee Harris RPA out of Spectra. Gem City pulled a big Tyrese Haliburton red rookie ticket auto /149 from Contenders Optic. Ry$ Down South found a Randy Arozarena hat tag auto /3 from Flawless.

Ready for the 1/1 parade? Hit Seekers started the year off right with a Ja’Marr Chase 1/1 from Illusions — pulled on 1/1, of course. Heat Check hit a chunky Bobby Dalbec 1/1 RPA out of Flawless. Ry$ went LuLu hunting with a Luka Doncic 1/1 auto out of Spectra. And Hit n Run pulled the Mike Trout 1/1 MLB Logoman auto from Topps Dynasty. That puts the “nasty” in “dynasty.”

Not gonna lie, 2021 was pretty rad. In our first full year, we accomplished amazing things, and that’s because of the support and love that you gave us. We’re gonna carry those good vibes into 2022 and do this community proud. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
