Signed, sealed, delivered: How the gift of a 1963 baseball connected two Oxnard me

What a great memory. I pitched against him in CIF play-offs in either

my sophomore or junior year. He beat me either 2-1 or 1-0. Noel Smith threw

a ball back to me over my head into CF for the winning run. Ken McMullen was

on that team. I’m going to look it up in my scrapbook.

Thanks for sharing. What a great story! I knew Denny pretty well.

Denny Lemaster was a pitching phenom at Oxnard High who became a big leaguer. Buddy Salinas had a baseball signed by him in 1963 that he felt compelled to return.
