The Coolidge Unified School District is gearing up for a potential uptick in enrollment amid the city’s ongoing housing boom. According to City Manager Rick Miller, the city may issue up to 600 new permits for single-family homes before the end of the year. Here’s what the district plans to do to accommodate additional students.
In case you missed it: Following an earlier meeting this month, which became bogged down in confusion over public meeting rules, the Pinal County Board of Supervisors may adopt a longer set of rules that touch upon everything from when a board member can refrain from voting on an item to time limits on public comment. Everywhere but Arizona: After a sharp increase, gas prices are beginning to drop nationwide. But in this state, prices have continued to rise above the national average.

– An early morning shooting resulted in the deaths of four people Sunday following a confrontation between two groups at a trailer park in Tucson.
– In Superior, a scuffle with law enforcement backed up westbound traffic on U.S. Highway 60 to the Queen Creek Bridge when police chased a man accused of shoplifting from a Superior business into the highway lanes.
– A man accused of allegedly burglarizing a Casa Grande home last month reportedly attempted to rob the same house just a few days later and was caught in the act.
