Good morning RJ,
A big announcement was made late last week. On Friday, city officials sent out a notice announcing that they had reached a preliminary agreement for the development of a 1-million-square-foot manufacturing facility within the city’s industrial corridor with kitchen-and-bath giant Kohler Co. Council will hold a special meeting tomorrow to discuss the development agreement.
Picture this: After fleeing from police officers on the interstate, the driver jumps into the backseat while the vehicle is moving and demands one of the backseat passengers take the wheel. It may sound like something only Hollywood could think up, but that’s exactly what this driver did during a high-speed pursuit with state troopers on I-10.
And here are a few other things you might have missed this weekend:
– Nikola Motor Co. could face a $125 million civil penalty to settle allegations that it misled investors. The allegations were brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission last year. The company said it will seek reimbursement from its founder, Trever Milton.
– Scam alert: Three local fire departments are warning residents of an ongoing text messaging scam, reported to be offering limited edition T-shirts for sale to support area departments. Here’s what you need to know.
– Plus, an Eloy resident preparing to leave for work was caught off guard when he discovered a stranger sleeping in the passenger seat of his vehicle. A 25-year-old man now faces trespassing and other charges following the incident.
– Did you catch our Photo of the Week on Friday? It was kind of a big deal for those keeping track of the Rams’ Volleyball season. Want to see our latest Photo of the Week and other content? Follow us here for more.
