The Current State of Affairs for Refugees and Asylum Seekers

In the leadup to last year’s election, many promises were made about how protections for refugees and asylum seekers would be improved. Now, one year later, which of these promises have been kept and which remain unfulfilled? Join Melanie Nezer, Senior Vice President for Public Affairs at HIAS, at a program hosted by Vilna Shul to hear what the current state of affairs is for the forcibly displaced, and what can be done to help.

Protecting Genocide Survivors through Refugee Resettlement
Tuesday | November 16, 2021 | 1:30pm ETJoin HIAS, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), and Rohingya advocates for a discussion about contemporary genocide and the role refugee resettlement can play in response to the resulting forced displacement. The program will specifically focus on the Rohingya genocide, and will include concrete recommendations for taking action to support the refugee resettlement program and advocating for increased opportunities for Rohingya resettlement.
