Dear RJ,

Perhaps one of the strangest characters in Slavic folklore – or indeed anywhere – is the witch Baba Yaga, who apparently lived in a hut built on chicken’s legs. A drawing by the artist Viktor Hartmann of a clock modelled on Baba Yaga’s hut was the inspiration for the ninth movement of Mussorgsky’s famous piano composition, Pictures at an Exhibition.

So for our new Halloween card, we took Mussorgsky’s music and imagined Baba Yaga herself as the pianist, giving a pair of curious kittens a scary adventure!Baba YagaHalloween HouseEerie Emporium

Halloween lends itself perfectly to ecards – you can’t really do scary effects on a paper card, with no animation or music! Here are some other favourites for the spooky season.Duet for Two CatsMischief in the MistSpooky Silhouettes

Handy Tip! Is your Country Cottage still needing repair work? We’ve reduced the number of rewards needed for the repairs to the Cottage by 30% to help you on your way! (Please note this applies only to the Cottage repairs, not catalogue items or Summer Garden.)

With best wishes,
