Gosar Announces New Funding for Prescott Regional Airport
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Paul Gosar, DDS (AZ-04) issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s decision to award a grant totalling $5,407,787 the Prescott Regional Airport to reconfigure the existing taxiway at Ernest A. Love Field in Prescott, Arizona.
“I am pleased to announce that the Prescott Regional Airport will receive these critical federal funds to shift its taxiway to meet Federal Aviation Administration design standards. This funding is essential to maintaining reliable air service to the community and growing surrounding area,” stated Congressman Gosar.
“The City of Prescott is pleased to receive this notification of grant award for the next phase of the Taxiway Charlie relocation project at Prescott Regional Airport – Ernest A. Love Field. The unwavering support we’ve received from Congressman Gosar has been instrumental in assuring necessary funding for the airport’s continued safe and efficient operation. The 100% Federal share, made possible through the American Relief Act, ensures this important project can proceed in the midst of the continuing pandemic,” said Prescott Regional Airport Director Robin Sobotta.
Background:
On September 24, 2021, the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) issued a notice of grant award to Congress of a grant to the City of Prescott to provide $5,407,787 in federal funding to the Prescott Regional Airport to shift or reconfigure 7619 feet of Taxiway C from its current airfield location east 75 feet to meet Federal Aviation Administration design standards.
