Arizona’s Redistricting Process
Hi there,
Thank you for volunteering with AOTL! We appreciate your time and participation. This month there are a few virtual events I would like to invite you to!
Here are the latest updates on Arizona’s redistricting process:
- The Independent Redistricting Commission held their mapping training last Monday 9/13.
- The mapping tool is now available for public use.
- The grid map is now available for public view and use. Remember that grid maps are just the first step in the redistricting process — grid maps are population-equal districts that are used as a starting place. Now the IRC will apply the mapping criteria and public input to work towards a draft.
- The IRC posted an updated schedule for their grid map hearings.
Hearing details:
- Thursday, September 23 @ 12:00 pm (MST) in Scottsdale, Casa Grande, and Sierra Vista
- Saturday, September 25 @ 10:00 am (MST) in Phoenix and Prescott,
- Wednesday, September 29 @ 4:00 pm (MST)in Scottsdale and Tucson
- Thursday, October 7 @ 4:00 pm (MST)/5:00 (MDT) in Surprise, Flagstaff, and Kayenta
**You can view the entire schedule in the hyperlink above**
