Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat are the eligibility requirements for submissions?Adopters must be 18+ (submissions received from adopters below the age of 18 will require a parent or legal guardian’s signature), the pet in the story must be currently living, and the pet must have been adopted from a U.S.-based animal welfare organization. How will we know if an adopter has submitted a story on our behalf? The submitting adopter will enter an email for your organization to receive an email notification and/or, you can see a notification in your Partner Portal.
What if my adopter provides the wrong email for our organization?Adopters are asked to submit an email address for the organization to verify the adoption. This triggers an email notification to indicate that there is an adoption pending verification. If the adopter uses an email that is not in the Partner Portal, please know that the verification will still be there. The adoption verification is tied to your organization’s Tax Identification Number.
We work in partnership with another organization to facilitate adoptions — which organization would receive the grant award if one of our stories is selected as a winner? We’re so grateful to hear you have a positive relationship with other animal welfare organizations in your community! We know that when we work together to save lives, animals win! For the Love Stories grant cycle, the organization that completed and can verify the adoption is the organization that will receive the grant funding. So ultimately, if your organization completed the adoption, we would recognize your organization as the Love Stories honoree.Have More Questions?Check out the rest of our Love Stories FAQs and our webinar recording for additional details and tips from the Petco Love team!READ MORE FAQs ABOUT LOVE STORIESWATCH WEBINAR RECORDINGPlease note: To view the recording you’ll need to log in to the Partner Portal.
