“My sister and I were at our mom’s follow-up appointment for a previous visit concerning changes in her personality,” she said. “The doctor asked us, ‘Does anyone in your mother’s family have Alzheimer’s?’ I looked at my sister and asked the doctor, ‘What’s Alzheimer’s?’ He told us it was a type of dementia. Our mom was 65.”
