This Week With Gosar
PRESCOTT, AZ – Here are our top stories…
Gosar Introduces Election Integrity Bill
This week I introduced the Securing America’s Election Act of 2021, legislation that would require the use of voter-verified paper ballots or a paper ballot backup in federal elections that if needed, can be counted by hand, an optical scanner, or a similar device.
The bill would also establish voter-verified paper ballots as the correct record of the total votes cast, in the event of any inconsistencies or irregularities between electronic and paper vote tallies. Furthermore, the bill includes language addressing open-source technology to further strengthen our elections infrastructure.
There is nationwide distrust in our entire voting system, and for good reason. America’s confidence in our elections is eroding with each and every election, in no small part because of the radical actions taken by liberal democrats and their allies in the Fake News Media and Big Tech to undermine election integrity. In our home state of Arizona, for example, accusations of voting irregularities have led to the need for a forensic audit to determine whether votes were cast correctly, safely, and securely.
My bill would address the vulnerabilities within our nation’s elections infrastructure that leave voters susceptible to potential hacking and manipulation of votes. At a time when faith in electoral integrity is at an historic low, my common-sense legislation protects votes and restores faith and confidence in our democracy.

Gosar to Biden: Don’t Come Knockin’ on My Door!
I firmly believe that the decision to get the COVID-19 vaccine is a choice best made between you and your doctor. Unfortunately, earlier this week, Mr. Biden and his administration stated that they would begin going door-to-door to coerce you to get the vaccine.
These statements provoke a serious concern that the federal government is in the process of identifying and tracking the private health information of millions of Americans. There is no scenario where the federal government should be actively entering communities and traveling door-to-door to pressure Americans to receive a vaccine. COVID-19 vaccines are widely available throughout the country, and Americans have every ability to decide for themselves whether they should receive them.
In response, I wrote to Mr. Biden to express my opposition and to inquire what authority he has to conduct door-to-door vaccine checks.

Trump Sues Facebook for Illegal Censorship and Breach of Contract
Earlier this week President Trump finally took court action against Facebook, and others, for illegally and unlawfully censoring him, and millions of other Americans, and illegally colluding with Democrats to violate the First Amendment.
I am attaching a copy of the lawsuit in case you want to read it for yourself.
While the courts have not been good to President Trump, we are hoping he gets a fair hearing on this important issue.

Gosar Joins Bipartisan Request to Remove COVID Restrictions on International Travel
Also this week, I joined a bipartisan group of congressional members urging the Biden Administration to begin taking steps to safely remove the remaining Covid-19 restrictions on international travel.
According to recent data and scientific studies by the Center for Disease Control, the pandemic has a reached a point where international travel to the United States can safely resume without restrictions. I am happy to join this bipartisan group who recognize the impact ongoing travel restrictions are imposing on the travel industry. The matter is urgent.
As noted in the letter, if nothing is done to lift entry restrictions, the United States is projected to lose 1.1 million jobs and an additional $175 billion by the end of this year.

Biden Continues Assault on the 2nd Amendment
The Biden Administration has issued a proposed rule stating that any smooth-bore non-National Firearms Act firearm equipped with a “stabilizing brace” will automatically be considered a short-barreled shotgun, subjecting an entire class of firearms to overburdensome regulations with a stroke of a pen.
Fortunately, Congress can remove any ambiguity Biden’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) may take advantage of by removing short-barreled firearms from the NFA altogether. In response, I cosponsored the No Frivolous Applications for Short-Barreled Shotguns Act, legislation that would remove short-barreled shotguns from the National Firearms Act and be treated as any other shotgun thus preventing the ATF from forcing otherwise law-abiding gun owners to destroy, register, or surrender their legally acquired pistol-braced firearms.

Other Highlights From This Week
The 2021 Summer Olympics are set to begin in a few weeks. As athletes from across the country work to qualify to join Team USA, some “activist athletes” have shown enormous disrespect to our country and flag while simultaneously seeking to represent it. If you don’t love America, then you don’t need to represent her on the global stage. I joined my colleagues in sending a letter to the Olympic Committee to remind all American athletes to stop abusing their platform to spout shameful anti-American rhetoric.
We owe a great debt of gratitude to our veterans and their families. This week, I cosponsored the Veterans in Parks (VIP) Act, legislation that provides veterans and Gold Star families free lifetime access to public lands, and active-duty military free annual passes. I have previously urged a no fee policy for our national parks for every citizen on the basis that these are national treasures that should be open to all and are fully funded by our tax dollars. For many people having to pay a $30 entry fee discourages a full and fair use of these parks.
