On This Day in Baseball HistoryJuly 7th, 1937:With Franklin D. Roosevelt in attendance at Griffith Stadium in Washington, Yankees’ first baseman Lou Gehrig drives in four runs with a home run and a double to lead the AL to an 8-3 victory over the National League in All-Star action. FDR, who tosses the ceremonial first pitch, is the first U.S. president to attend an All-Star Game.
