Arizona Redistricting
Hello Fair Maps Advocates! Welcome to our June Newsletter, here’s what new this month.
Arizona Redistricting Updates
The Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC) meets at 8 a.m. on Tuesdays. Check out their website here, where you can find the minutes from previous meetings, agendas for upcoming meetings, and the public comments portal.
The IRC has released their tentative public hearing schedule. These early hearings are critical for the Commission to hear from Communities of Interest and gain input from Arizonans before they begin to draw the maps that will represent us for the next decade.
The time to advocate for fair maps is now. The Commission wants to hear from the public about communities of interest and how maps should be drawn, so join our upcoming calls and read our emails for ways you can give input in writing or at early hearings. Check out when they are coming to a city near you.
Prepare for these hearings by participating in our monthly volunteer call and other action items. More info below.
