| The Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC) meets at 8* a.m. on Tuesdays. Check out their new website here, where you can find the minutes from previous meetings, agendas for upcoming meetings, and the public comments portal.
The IRC has hired Timmons Group-National Demographics Corporation as their mapping consultant. Although this is not the decision we had hoped for, now is the time to continue engaging with the Commission and organizing for fair maps.
Executive Director Schmitt is waiting for the legislative budget’s passing to hire 3 more administrative staff positions: Deputy Director, I.T. specialist and a Community Outreach Coordinator. Once these positions are staffed, then we can expect the IRC to conduct its listening tour around Arizona, hearing from Communities of Interest that will inform their maps.
