We have great news! Democrats just secured a major victory for people with disabilities.
In February, the Republican chairman of the Appropriations Committee proposed a 50% cut to the Division of Developmental Disabilities, specifically the program that supports in-home services for those with developmental disabilities. Then, to take it even further, the far-right Freedom Caucus wanted to kill the program entirely.
Thankfully, many incredible families advocating for their loved ones with disabilities showed up at the Capitol every day, and Democrats stood by them until we were able to get this deal done.
As a result, we’re incredibly proud to have secured services for the 60,000 Arizonans with disabilities who need them.
Paid for by the Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee, a project of the Arizona Democratic Party. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s campaign committee. Top Donors: UFCW Local 99, AFSCME People, Engineers Political Education Committee.
