Spring’s here—and if you’re like us, you’re already thinking ahead to next season. Before the woods green up too much, it’s a great time to give your hard-sided blind a little love. Here’s a quick checklist we run through every spring to make sure everything’s solid and ready to go.
1. Bug Bomb It
If it’s been sitting all winter, hit it with a bug bomb to clear out spiders, wasps, or anything else that’s moved in.
2. Sweep It Out
Grab a broom to clear out leaves and dirt and then hit it with a quick vacuum if you’ve got one handy.
3. Clean the Windows
Don’t skip the windows—clean both sides with a no-residue glass cleaner to keep your visibility and shooting lanes clear.
4. Check for Storm Damage
Check for cracks, leaks, or storm damage now. It’s way easier to fix than during the rut.
5. Tighten Screws & Bolts
Give your blind a full once-over, especially towers, and tighten all hardware and anchors before wind or wear becomes a problem.
6. Look for Hives or Nests
Before climbing in, check the roof and corners for nests. Birds and wasps love to move in during the off-season.
A little maintenance now means fewer headaches later—and a better season overall. If you’ve got a Shadow Hunter blind, you’re already ahead of the game. Just keep it clean, tight, and ready.
