| Founded in 1902, Clos du Marquis is a wine that originates from Petit Clos, the former home of the Marquis de Las Cases. Adjoining that of Chateau Leoville Las Cases, the Clos du Marquis vineyard is located on the great terroir of the Saint-Julien appellation on the left bank of the Bordeaux region. A strong brand of the Domaines Delon, Clos du Marquis has a unique identity, different from that of Leoville Las Cases.

A pretty wine and a classic Bordeaux, this 2008 has attractive notes of minerals intermixed with fruitcake and sweet currant fruit. Medium-bodied and pure, with a dense ruby/purple color. Itâs perfectly mature and is drinking beautifully now! A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. |

I loved the 2022 Clos Du Marquis, which is a brilliant effort, if not the finest vintage of this cuvĂ©e Iâve tasted. Cassis, graphite, and floral notes all define the bouquet, and itâs full-bodied, with ultra-fine tannins and flawless balance. It shows the ripe, concentrated, powerful style of the vintage yet is incredibly pure and seamless, with everything in the right places. Itâs going to round into form with just a few years of bottle age but have decades of prime drinking. |
