SABR members approve By-Laws revision in special election

A revision to the SABR By-Laws was approved by the membership in a special election that closed on Wednesday, March 5. The change, which will take effect beginning with the regular election cycle this spring, defines exclusionary conflicts of interest in board service.

The By-Laws revision passed with 809 of 986 ballots (82.05 percent) recorded as “yes” votes with a two-thirds majority required.

A call for nominations for the 2025 Board of Directors elections will begin next week, with the regular election taking place from April 23-May 7. There will be three seats open: President and two Directors’ seats. Please contact Nominations Committee chair Stew Thornley with any questions.

Deadline to submit new project proposals to SABR Editorial Board is April 1

SABR’s Editorial Board welcomes new project proposals from members to be considered for publication through the Digital Library, SABR.org, or any other multimedia formats. We strongly encourage new proposals that involve collaboration between SABR research committees and/or chapters, and web-based projects with an eye toward enhanced multimedia presentation.

SABR seeks to publish 2-4 web-based multimedia projects and 6-8 books per year. Book projects should be of a scope that can fit in a single volume, typically between 100,000 and 200,000 total words.
