Giving Hearts Day is over soon—please give ASAP

Dear Peter,Theodore Roosevelt famously advised to “speak softly and carry a big stick.”

In his honor, I won’t “yell” in all caps today. But I do want to you to hear my message:

Plus, Google has committed $10,000—join in and help us maximize this opportunity! With your support for our Giving Hearts Day campaign, 100% of your donation will go straight to the library, and we will surge ahead of our fundraising projections. This will help us:
  1. Keep construction on track for this “living building” that will bring TR’s stories to life while serving as a model for sustainability and environmental leadership;
  2. Recruit more Americans to join this historic project—TR had an amazing ability to bring people together, and we envision his Presidential Library as an institution that revitalizes our country’s civic discussions; and
  3. Celebrate the central values of Teddy Roosevelt’s life: Leadership, Citizenship, and Conservation, so visitors are inspired on a personal level and are led to contemplate what it means to be a “Rooseveltian” in today’s world.
Theodore Roosvelt gave his heart to America. He loved and cherished its land, wildlife, and people. It’s only fitting that we give our own hearts to the project of protecting his legacy.

Please make your Giving Hearts Day gift by midnight tonight.

Best,

Robbie Lauf
Executive Director
