Dear Friends,
This is Rabbi Chilik Caplan reaching out to you with a heavy heart after receiving an urgent message from a Golani commander on the frontlines. Recently, just after a series of tragic incidents, he reached out to me with a desperate plea.
He shared with me, in a voice filled with urgency and pain, that in the past week alone, we lost over 10 young soldiers who were caught in ambushes in Lebanon. He painfully recounted the case of 7 Golani soldiers who tragically lost their lives because they lacked a drone to scout a booby-trapped building before they entered it. “We urgently need drones and life-saving protective equipment,” he said. “If you can reach out to Jews around the world, I beg you – we are in dire need of support to protect our soldiers.”
These words struck me deeply. Our soldiers are risking their lives every day to protect our families and our homeland. The commander’s message was clear: this is about saving lives. With the right equipment – like drones and protective vests – we can prevent further tragedies. The lack of this essential gear is putting lives at risk every single day. |
