In our nation’s history, there have been 2,004 senators, and only 3 of them have been Black women. As a country, we have come so far, but we will never be able to become a more perfect union until we have the equal representation in the halls of power that the people deserve.
Black women in politics historically raise only one-third of the amount that white candidates raise, and that gap is even wider in Maryland. The candidates I’ve been running against have raised 697% more money than I have in this election.
Recent polls show this race is a true toss-up with Larry Hogan and I tied. I’ve been having to prove people wrong my entire life, and I’m ready to meet this moment and defeat Larry Hogan — but I’m going to need your help.
