SENSORY SATURDAY. Saturday, October 5, Saturday, November 9 and Saturday, December 7. Designed for individuals with special sensory needs to experience the Museum with reduced lighting, sounds and attendance.

● STORY TIME WITH THE EDUCATOR. Saturday, October 5, Friday, October 18, Saturday, November 9 and Friday,

November 19. Designed for children ages 2 through preK to enjoy a featured book and a craft activity.

● RAILROADING MERIT BADGE WORKSHOP. Saturday, October 5 and Saturday, November 9. Designed for individual boys and girls ages 11 through 17 to earn the railroading merit badge.  SOLD OUT!
● GARDEN RAILWAYS TOUR. Sunday, October 6. 17th annual self-guided tour of operating model trains in outdoor settings. Purchase tickets on Eventbrite or in the Whistle Stop Shop museum store.

● TRAINS & TREATS. Saturday,

October 19. Designed for children ages 3 to 12 to come in costume, if they like, to tour the Museum’s historic trains and gather special treats.

● TRAINS & TROOPS. Saturday, November 2 and Sunday,

November 3. Sponsored by A. P. Murray. 24th annual weekend event salutes American railroads and the United States military, veterans and active duty service men and women.

● 1940S SWING DANCE. Saturday, November 2. Dance to the fantastic Moonlighters big band performing the greatest hits from the Greatest Generation.

December 7. Take a private tour New York City’s great Moynihan Train Hall and Grand Central Terminal, with its annual holiday fair and operating model trains.

2025 Events, To Date

● RAILS & ALES. Saturday, April 5, 2025. 8th annual craft beer tasting event with a variety of brews and breweries participating. Tickets go on sale on Eventbrite beginning Sunday, December 1, 2024.

● Woodstown & Winterthur Ramble. Saturday, May 10, 2025. Take a 32-mile roundtrip train ride on the Woodstown Central Railroad and explore the extraordinary gardens, library and museum of Winterthur.

June 14, 2025.  Enjoy an in-depth tour of the United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey’s collection and take a train ride on the Black River & Western Railroad.
