We’ve mentioned before that a key benefit to supporting progressive candidates is that, alongside helping them win their own races, strong progressive campaigns increase turnout and help Democrats win up and down the ballot.

Sen. Bernie Sanders recently commissioned a poll of specifically swing-state voters. Not just Democrats, but ALL likely voters. And what the poll found is that progressive policies are OVERWHELMINGLY popular in the states we need to win to stop Trump.

Here are just a few of the statistics from AZ, GA, MI, NV, PA, and WI:

84% of voters support expanding Medicare to cover dental, vision, and hearing.

82% of voters support making large corporations and the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share of taxes.

70% of voters support raising the minimum wage to $17 an hour.

Remember, these numbers include Republicans and Independents.

And what they tell us is that if we support bold progressive candidates who support these policies, we can increase turnout and help Kamala Harris and Tim Walz win in key battleground states.
