As many of you may be aware, our team has been focusing considerable efforts towards meeting our goal of creating “the best possible environments to allow our Members to live their best possible lives.” It’s a bold target, for sure, but our intent is to get there, step-by-step.
We recently introduced on new Wellness Ambassador, Kim Alexis (learn more here), and thanks to her assistance, we have another important announcement to make. We have recently completed an agreement which will allow any of our Members currently eligible for Medicare’s “SilverSneakers” program to take advantage of those benefits in your community’s Club. Effective August 1st – and in conjunction with our annual “Focus on Fitness” month – eligible Members can begin applying for reduced class subscription pricing and participating in a selection of complimentary classes for enrollees.
This is an exciting step in our journey together. There are many details yet to share, and we will do that over the course of the next few weeks. In the meantime, we encourage you to review the quick FAQs below to learn a little more about how you can take advantage of this new offering. And be sure to mark your calendars for our open information sessions with the representatives of SilverSneakers:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does SilverSneakers work?
SilverSneakers is a Medicare Advantage Plan program. The Silver Sneakers website (click here) does a great job of explaining the program, its purpose, its parameters, and its enrollment requirements. For our purposes, those eligible for SilverSneakers will register for classes at the Club, and those classes will be either complimentary for enrolled participants or provided at a discount to your pass if you are a fitness class subscriber. The subscriber discount is $15 per month, or $180 annually (whichever is applicable, based on your pass).
When does the program begin? Can I sign up now?
You are able to check your eligibility for SilverSneakers anytime by visiting click here. This is the first step in the process. Are SilverSneakers classes different than regular classes?
There are really two questions here.
The first is the general idea of the curriculum of SilverSneakers, which, in the past, was very specific and prescribed. These days, the umbrella of classes is much broader and, according to our partners, every class currently offered within Trilogy is SilverSneakers eligible.
The second question is whether our offerings in Trilogy will be different, and the answer to that is “kind of”. We will designate classes available on a complimentary basis to SilverSneakers-enrolled Members with an Infinity symbol (∞) on the MTL calendar. Sometimes these classes will change rarely, sometimes frequently, all based on what Members seem to enjoy. But there will always be a few options each week available on a complimentary basis, and that is new.
Is SilverSneakers the only offering? Will other similar programs to SilverSneakers be offered?
Currently we have the agreement completed with SilverSneakers, which is the largest player in this space. That said, our goal is to expand as quickly as possible to similar programs, with similar benefits offered through each.
What if I already have a pass subscription?
First, that’s great! If you are already in a pass program, you will see the price change moving forward if you pay on a monthly basis. If you are an annual or seasonal prepaid subscriber (depending on community offerings), your benefit will be prorated through the end of your pass and issued back to you as a credit on your account.
How do I make sure I get the benefits I’m eligible for?
We encourage everyone to attend the sessions in July to learn about how to ensure you are provided everything you might be eligible for. Ultimately, the burden of enrollment via Medicare is on you as the insurer, but if you’ve done your end, then you simply need to complete the form for you Club available here.
What are the complimentary classes?
As part of the agreement with SilverSneakers, we will offer select classes each week (signified by the Infinity symbol on MTL – ∞) which will be complimentary to any enrolled SilverSneakers member. You still need to register as SilverSneakers eligible through the Club, and you must register via MTL. But if you do that, you’re welcome to attend at no cost.
Are Infinity-branded classes free for ONLY SilverSneakers enrollees?
The Infinity-branded classes are complimentary for SilverSneakers enrollees, people with class subscriptions (SilverSneakers or otherwise), and, in the future, participants in SilverSneakers-like programs (Silver Fit, for example), once we add them in. For all others, these classes are available at the a la carte class pricing.
I already use my SilverSneakers benefit somewhere else, am I able to use it here too?
Thankfully, SilverSneakers allows you to use your benefits at various locations, including big-box gyms, specialized fitness facilities, and now also at your Club.
Will this partnership impact the programs offered in my community in the future?
In short, possibly. Because we want to be able to offer these types of insurance-backed benefit programs to as many Members as possible, it is likely that we begin 2025 with a universal set of fitness pass and personal training options across the Trilogy communities. Though not every detail has been decided, there are likely to be monthly, annual, and bundled passes options as currently exist in most communities. By unifying the offering and the anniversary dates, it will make it much easier to facilitate the important benefits available via SilverSneakers and other similar programs. |
