Stop by to enjoy incredible bruschetta, flatbreads, and gelatos hand-picked by Chef Bryan. Don’t forget – the Wine Machine has half-off wines for Happier Hour with your Member ID. If you haven’t experienced Bodega yet, now is the perfect time!

Finally, we want to remind everyone about Member Charges at the food & beverage outlets. Have you had your server or bartender ask you for a signature when you’re charging to your Member Account?  We are striving for 100% Member signatures on all Member charges. We want the billing process to be as smooth as possible, and always want to be sure the correct Members are being charged for their orders. We appreciate you taking the time to review and sign your bill, ensuring 100% accurate charges.

Let’s Talk Golf

With summer in full swing, we have a few reminders to share about the golf course and bunker project.

With the golf course in transition, it is important to keep these in mind:

  • The ground is at its wettest early in the morning. With that, please avoid driving in wet areas or bare spots.
  • Carts should not be within 30 yards of the greens. Please exit towards the cart path when signs direct you to do so.
  • Carts should not right of the green on holes 2, 6, 7, 10, or 17. Please exist to the paths.

The bunker project has started, and currently hole 3 is being modified. Throughout the summer, one to three holes at a time will be closed or modified during the renovation. If a hole is being worked on, a sign will be placed near the tee box area informing players that the hole has been modified. Tee markers will be located past the bunkers that are being worked on in the fairway, typically closest to the cart path side. When posting a score for these holes, the player should take their net par, no matter what score they achieve on that hole. For example, if you receive a stoke on hole 3, you post a 6, giving you a net 5 for your posting scores.

Golf Maintenance with Golf Superintendent Alex Ward

This is a friendly reminder that the golf course will closed July 8th – 14th for aerification.

Summer is upon us and the transition from the cool season grass to the warm season Bermuda grass is in full swing. The golf course was sprayed with an herbicide on May 21st , 22nd, and 23rd. This herbicide eliminates the cool season grass allowing the Bermuda grass to come out of dormancy and grow. Early results show a good stand of Bermuda grass and should favor a successful transition. Remember, Bermuda grass likes the heat, but it loves the humidity, which is typically present during monsoon season from June 15th – September 30th. The humidity encourages Bermuda grass growth with its rhizomes and stolon’s spreading, filling in weak and bare areas.

During the closure for aerification, the maintenance team will verti-cut, aerify, and top-dress with sand on all the greens. Please keep in mind the greens will be slower immediately after aerification. As the greens heal, the heights will be lowered and speeds will increase. Also, during this closure, we are scheduled to deep-tine aerify the fairways, which will allow for better water, air, and nutrient movement in the soil and help with compaction. Fertilizer and soil amendments will also be applied to the entire golf course at this time, along with the continued cultural practices including verti-cutting and slicing.

 Lifestyle Has All the Fun!

Summer is here and the heat is on, but we’re not letting it stop the fun! We’ll be hosting music, crafts, and signature events indoors to keep our Members safe, while saving many outdoor activities for the end of summer.

This June, join our five-week ballroom dance series and master classic dance moves. Plus, help give back to the community by joining the Lifestyle Team at Aimee’s Farm Animal Sanctuary every Monday morning at 7:00am. Just two miles from Encanterra, this five-acre farm is a haven for injured and neglected farm animals.

We’ve planned a month of fun activities to keep you entertained, including:

  • June 16th | Father’s Day Poker Run
  • June 21st | Aloha Summer Luau
  • June 24th | Casino Offsite

Due to the high summer temps, our tribute concert series is on hold, but we’ll still have DJs at the pools and live entertainment at the Clubhouse.

Be sure to check MTL regularly for all we have planned and join us for some summer fun!
