The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released 780,000 previously hidden post-vaccine reports including complaints of facial paralysis, tremors, and more.

People who got COVID-19 boosters were more likely to develop nasal congestion and/or sore throat, but those who were vaccinated without boosting were more likely to experience body and muscle aches from COVID, a recent study on medical students found.

The U.S. Supreme Court on April 1 declined to hear an appealfrom a former AstraZeneca sales manager who was denied unemployment benefits after she was fired for declining COVID vaccination citing religious grounds.

Pfizer’s Paxlovid drug, a COVID-19 antiviral, has been found to not work for many vaccinated people, according to a recent paperwritten by the company’s researchers.

Recent documents released under the Freedom of Information Act revealed the process by which two former Food and Drug Administration employees—who were involved in COVID vaccine evaluation—sought employment with Moderna, a COVID vaccine manufacturer.

Finally, a recent preprint has linked COVID-19 vaccines with a rise in deaths from cancer in 2021 to 2022. The authors tracked the cancer deaths through the CDC’s death data.

CDC Releases Hidden COVID-19 Vaccine Injury Reports

The 780,000 reports were received shortly after the COVID-19 vaccines were rolled out and show that people experienced a wide range of post-vaccination problems, including heart inflammation, miscarriages, and seizures.

People lodged the reports with V-safe, a text-message system created by the CDC to monitor for possible side effects of COVID-19 vaccines.

Booster Vaccination May Affect COVID-19 Symptoms and Severity: Study

Getting a COVID-19 booster shot and its timing may affect the frequency and type of symptoms in breakthrough SARS-CoV-2 infections, a recent study found. 

The frequency of fever and cough symptoms was directly associated with increased time between vaccine doses. With each booster vaccination, the likelihood of having a fever and cough increased by 4.4 percent and 4.8 percent, respectively.

Supreme Court Denies Appeal of AstraZeneca Employee Fired for Refusing the Shot for Religious Reasons 

The U.S. Supreme Court refused to grant the petition for certiorari, or review, in Goede v. AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP in an unsigned order on April 1. 

No justices dissented. The court did not explain its decision. The justices had considered the petition at their private conferences on Feb. 16 and March 28.

Paxlovid Doesn’t Work in Many Vaccinated People: Pfizer Study

There was not a statistically significant difference between Paxlovid and placebo recipients in terms of time to alleviation of symptoms, Pfizer’s researchers reported in the new paper. 

Study Suggests Link Between Rising Cancer Death Rates and COVID-19 Vaccination 

The authors of the study speculated on the increase in cancer as an underlying cause or one of multiple causes of death in 2021 and 2022. “Given the case studies of neoplasms [new cancers] following COVID-19 vaccination cited in the literature, one possible factor could be adverse effects of the COVID-19 vaccines, which were rolled out from 2021 and prioritized for vulnerable groups such as those with cancer,” they wrote.
