It happened in an instant—a blur of screeching tires and shattering glass, a collision of metal and flesh that sent shockwaves rippling through Rabbi Stern’s world. One moment, he was crossing the street, lost in thought, the weight of his responsibilities weighing heavily on his shoulders. And then, without warning, the world tilted on its axis, and Rabbi Stern found himself sprawled on the pavement, pain coursing through his broken body.

As Rabbi Stern lay there, his body broken and battered, images of his beloved sons and daughters flashed before his eyes with crystal clarity. Their laughter, their smiles, their innocent faces etched with concern—all swept through his mind in a whirlwind of emotion. In that harrowing moment, the fear of leaving his children fatherless consumed him, overshadowing even the physical agony of his injuries.

Now, as Rabbi Stern grapples with the harsh reality of his severe handicap, the weight of his children’s future bears down upon him like a crushing burden. With each passing day, the strain of lost income and mounting medical bills grows heavier, casting a shadow over the once hopeful horizon.

A campaign has been spearheaded by Rabbi Stern’s community to help keep him and his family alive. Even if he can survive being hit by a car, there is only so much longer his young family can without his income.
