Dear RJ,
This year, we rolled out a new virtual training series focused on how you can hold the people we elect accountable by urging them to pass legislation that matters to you and our democracy. So far, we have covered key pro-democracy legislation like the Freedom to Vote Act and John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. This month, we will cover H.R. 51, the Washington, D.C. Admission Act.
Join us and the Workers Circle this Thursday, March 14, at 4 pm PT/7 pm ET for a training on what it means to be a citizen advocate, and how you can engage your members of Congress from your hometown.
Led by myself and Workers Circle Director of Social Justice, Noelle Damico, this training will cover:
- What H.R. 51, the Washington D.C. Admission Act is, and why it is important.
- The letter that you can deliver to your members of Congress.
- What is means to be a citizen advocate and how to set up meetings with members of Congress in your hometown.
No experience is necessary — all are welcome!
